Fine, moving on. Done it before, doing it again. I stand by what I said, there and here. New topic.

On the subject of bin Laden, since we're apparently on the subject of evil and hateful -- and I have things in perspective when I know what those words really mean -- It baffles me that extremist pro-Taliban folks are saying that the U.S. created bin Laden's videotape. Now moderate Muslims, for the most part, seem to be accepting it for what it is. But the extremists, who allegedly support what he and his cronies did and what the Taliban has done, are saying it's doctored. Why? What he is discussing and in a round-about way admitting to is something they support. So why would they want to argue he didn't say it? And wouldn't bin Laden be upset by the fact that his "supporters" don't believe he really did what he's obviously very proud of doing? Perplexing paradox.

I've decided not to waste blog space on the minor exchange from earlier today. But I'm also not hiding anything. Go here if you care to read the posts.

What a lovely morning. I've had lots of little problems already this morning, and for some reason I don't really care. It's Friday, it's pay day and I've got lots of things to do. I like good mood days. :-)

Friday Five from Heather!
1. What did you want to be when you grew up? An environmental attorney. That's all I wanted from elementary school until my senior year of high school, though I toyed with the idea of being a music agent.

2. Do you have any nicknames? No, not really. My grandmother's nickname for me was Charisma until she died when I was 7.

3. If you could change something about yourself what would it be? My self-critical nature.

4. Have you ever bought anything from an infomercial? Nope. I have bought a couple of things on eBay that used to be infomercials, but never from the TV itself.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? Tonight, we have a company team Christmas party. Tomorrow, shopping with Chris's boyfriend, then lunch with Joe's parents, then a friend's big Christmas party. Sunday, shopping with my mom and then dinner with friends at my step-sister's house.

You know, I left my last job when I wasn't sufficiently challenged and suffered an extreme lack of motivation (very unlike me). Now, I do actually love my new job, don't get me wrong. But for almost this entire week, I have been suffering the staring-at-the-screen-eyes-crossing stage of borderline boredom. I say borderline because I always manage to stop shy and dig up something to do. But if this continues, I'm going to lose my mind. I have so much to do outside of this little daytime amusement it boggles my mind. Yet, here I sit, twiddling my thumbs.

Wow. I don't know what I expected, I suppose this is pretty close to it, but still... "They (the Americans) were terrified thinking there was a coup." Wha---? I don't know if that's one of those vague undefinable Arabic interpretations, but I'm pretty sure most people in this country didn't think for more than 1/2 a second that this was some sort of internal domestic turmoil.

I just noticed the resolution on those New Orleans pictures really sucks. I promise to re-scan them at better resolution and re-post them asap. Good morning, all!

Ahhhhh... I am feeling better, and I've been talking to old friends. Life is good. I've also been busy uploading pictures. The pictures from our First Anniversary trip to New Orleans are up now. Check 'em out! No booby shots. We actually have some (hey, it's New Orleans!), but I spared you those. Hee hee.

Man, this sucks. I really think I'm coming down with something. I am in a fog, dizzy, my eyes are itching like allergies, and I feel like I'm going to drop straight to sleep any second. Crap. Must stop and get echinacea (sp?) on the way home. We're supposed to work out tonight, but I don't know if I can handle it. I really need to, too. Figures.

April got the present we sent her. I'm only commenting on it because it's even cuter than I imagined it was! I'm so glad it goes with her Noah's Ark baby room so nicely!

Good hump-day morning! I'm glad it's Wednesday. I usually have good days on Wednesdays. This morning got me off to a very rough start, though. I just cannot wake up. It was drizzly all night and heavy fog this morning - very unlike Phoenix. In fact, it was only 49 degrees for a high yesterday! I don't have this many warm clothes!

I had a good time shopping with Michelle last night in the cold rain though. We bought lots of little stuff at the 99-cent store, and had a field day in Cost Plus. I couldn't find the one thing I really wanted though - international-flag toothpicks. They only had American flags. Anyone know where to get them?

So, I'm blog-surfing this morning, my new pasttime when things are slow at work. (Reminder: I've gotten in trouble for this at prior jobs, so I'm trying not to re-develop the habit). But I'm starting to realize some important things. Maybe it's my refurbished friendship with Michelle, maybe it's the holiday season finally seeping into my being, maybe it's the impending partial solar eclipse. I don't know.

Whatever it is, I find myself in the position of wanting to mend the shredded threads of some old friendships. Some of them (of you?) are fellow bloggers, some are "real-life" friends. And it's not some issue with needing friends. I have wonderful friends, some in Phoenix, some on the net, some I've met and some I haven't. But I keep finding myself online and off, trying to keep abreast of what and how they're doing. And in the process discovering I actually care...

Good morning! I put the comments back in. Let me know if you like it or not. It's a little busy, but I think I can handle it for three weeks. What do you think?

Hmmmmm... New look... Deciding if I like it or not before I put my comment code back. ;-P

I went over to the Moveable Type site to see what all the hype is about, and I saw that they made Dawn a Movable Type Spotlight. Cool! Now back to seeing if I can figure out how to use it...

Fun quiz for today.

Your total score is: 60
You have been classified as "moderately annoying". Although this is nothing to be concerned about, our experts believe that there's still room for improvement.

Ahhhh, Monday again. I'm so glad only one day in seven is a Monday. Feeling more in the Christmas mood though. A fun weekend with friends and family and lots of Christmas movies on TV helped. We saw "A Christmas Story" for the first time this year... What an awesome movie! I found out you can get those cool Pottery Barn reindeer, santa, etc. plates and bowls at the 99-cent store, so I'll be running over there tonight or tomorrow. And we made our invitations for Christmas dinner - we're doing an international Christmas, where everyone brings an international dish to share. I can't wait to see what people bring! Hope you're all feeling festive this week!
