Weight ** You know, for the last two years or so, I've joked about the fact that my body's "stuck" at a certain weight. If you know me IRL, you've undoubtedly heard me say that. No matter how I gorge myself, or how well-behaved I diet, my weight does not move. It might fluctuate a couple of pounds, but basically only with my monthly cycles. I find that incredibly amusing now, over 4.5 months pregnant, and still weighing the exact same thing I always do. All the websites say I should have gained about 10-12 pounds now, and nothing. This is worth noting as I sit here, pigging out on TGI Fridays Cheddar and Bacon potato chip thingies.

Pieces of history ** This is depressing. This church was an historic staple in downtown Phoenix. It's really sad to see it so damaged. It was a very grand church, and important to many Phoenix families, past and present.

Ugh ** Trying to be happy and cheerful today, but I woke up with a vicious head cold. I feel like my head is going to roll right off of my neck. Everyone's so happy and excited for me here at work and I feel like a bump on a log. I'm euphoric, but feel like complete and utter crap. Hopefully the cold meds will help some.

Baby O. ** There's a little Gender Update in the baby blog if anyone's interested. :-)

Distractions ** As Season mentioned in my comments, today is the day we should find out what flavor of baby is hiding in there. I say should because it presumes Baby O. will cooperate. Needless to say, I am having some difficulties concentrating today, and I suspect tomorrow will be worse. A few minutes ago I was daydreaming, and I imagined that they told me it was a girl. Suddenly, like my own life flashing before my eyes, I envisioned a little girl playing with dolls, then playing soccer, then dressed up for a high school dance, then walking down the aisle with a dashing man, and then being pregnant with her own baby. Whoa. Finding out the gender's going to send my imagination into a tailspin!

All's Fair... ** The Fair is here, the Fair is here! I'm a-going to the Arizona State Fair this weekend. Something about nasty fried foods, midway walking and weird sights and sounds is really appealing to me right now. Bring it on!

Project Update ** By the way, project A was a raging success. It was pretty neat that I was being asked to do it anyway, but the fact that I did it to near perfection? Priceless. When I made 2 minor revisions and returned it to the requestor (a VIP here), she informed me that she was so pleased with it, she'd already asked my supervisor's permission to let me work on another similar project. Yep. Pretty cool if you ask me. And the next one will be much easier since I already worked out the tough parts to complete project A.

And project B, getting the Mazda fixed, is done - Thank you Daddy! It is running and clean and about to get a "For Sale" sign stuck to it. Anyone looking for a 1987 Mazda RX-7 red 2+2 with about 160,000 miles on it? It's a deal! All fixed up and ready to go!

Project B(a) is also done, as Joe's truck is being sold as-is (without being fixed). The really nice guy across the street wants it just like it is, and is giving us $1,000 for it. Yippee! With that we can pay off my mom (I think that's like project K or L) for the Metro and eventually be back down to 2 cars and only 1 car payment (instead of 4 cars and 2 payments).

Of course, I had to go and start the baby's room. This is now project A, even though I'm still working on C and D. Some things take priority, like painting, and decorating. Hee.

Jerry Falwell and Terrorists ** Joe and I seriously about fell off of our respective couches last night, watching 60 Minutes. They were discussing the Christian Right and its current issues. In the process, they interviewed many people from the CR and Judaism (whose insights are very interesting). But the highlight of it all came in an interview with Jerry Falwell, who said, and I am quoting verbatim: "Mohammed was a terrorist." Uhhhh, buh-buh-uhhhh... The interviewer's face was priceless, kept still in that professional journalistic way. I just simply cannot imagine what would bring a person to believe or say that, even Jerry Falwell. Maybe he just felt he wasn't getting enough publicity lately. Here's the CBS version of the story.

On an unrelated note, I saw Jackie Chan this morning on the way to work. I swear it was him. He was driving a black Porsche. Just thought I'd share.
